Greyhounds’ Latest Single: “No Other Woman”

If you’re going to be opening for Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics at the release for their latest album (The State of Things), then you’d better bring it. Luckily, Greyhounds can bring it. The Austin-based duo made up of Anthony Farrell on the keys and Andrew Trube on the guitar, will be releasing their newest album, Cheyenne Valley Drive, on April 6th. The first single is “No Other Woman.”

A chomping guitar unabashedly leaves cookie crumbs in bed while doing the electric boogie-woogie with the vocals, low and smooth. The song moves forward unhurriedly without lethargy, creating a slow burn that could ignite a frosty night. The twosome becomes a threesome when the piano, revealing its hungry white and black grin, joins in with the guitar during a break that could break a puritanical resolve. Simply profound, “No Other Woman” is a midnight howl at the moon, and not for the faint at heart.

Catch the Greyhounds’ infectious, grimy, rock hard soul at the release event for Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics on March 24th at Terminal West. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes so you can be ready to get down. Until then, lose yourself in the seductive guitar and playful piano in “No Other Woman.”
