Latrese Bush CD Release Concert at St. James Live

The first time I heard a Latrese Bush song, I thought it was a 70’s soul song.  Simply because the lyrics, the music and her voice were oh so reminiscent of a time when music touched one’s heart and made it almost impossible to not snap your fingers and groove.  Latrese Bush’s latest project, The Collection, is filled with music that will move your heart, soul and body.  On a beautiful summer night, Latrese Bush unveiled The Collection live at St. James Live in Atlanta.

On The Collection Latrese Bush sings about the highs and lows of love.  Love can’t get much lower than how she takes it on “Six Feet Under”  where she sings of the death and burial of love.  On the rest of the album Latrese Bush takes the theme of love and sours to new heights with songs like “The Best” and “Because of You.”

This was my first visit to St. James Live on the south side of Atlanta.  I fell in love with the venue the moment I walked through the doors.  Comfortable table seating on the main floor and an overlooking balcony level that makes every seat in the house a great one for viewing and hearing the show.  The venue has very much the feel of a Chicago or NYC speak easy.

To fit that speak easy vibe the crowd was dressed for an upscale night of entertainment.   Latrese Bush gave the crowd a show that would make for some amazing memories as she debuted her music and mixed in covers of some Anita Baker hits.

Latrese Bush “The Best”

“The Best” is one of those ballads that every spring and summer should be part of the sound track of every wedding.

“I remember the day when you stole my heart
You showed me the kind of love I only dreamed of
Your eyes dance with mine, as you searched my deepest thoughts
I can’t imagine my life, without you
There is nowhere in this world, I’d rather be
Than right here, with you
You are the very best,
The best part of me
You’ve made my life complete”  Latrese Bush “The Best”
