Caribbean Meets Americana on Dangermuffin’s Heritage Tour at Smith’s Olde Bar

Charleston-based Dangermuffin performed at Smith’s Olde Bar just before the release of their latest studio album Heritage.  Heritage was released on Friday, March 31st (full review here)  The band played lots of new hits from this album and many crowd favorites.  Themes of sea, sun, and spiritual connection weave throughout Dangermuffin’s music.  They combine alternative Americana, island grooves, and folk music to create something that is filled with feel good vibes. In celebration of the band’s sixth release, Dangermuffin launched their spring and summer tour this month with a performance in Atlanta.

Dangermuffin kicked off their set with the first track on their new album Heritage, “Ode To My Heritage”.  This is a toe tapping song that quickly got the audience engaged and caused many to reach out to their partner for some impromptu dancing.

The rest of the night was filled with more of the same, Dangermuffin having fun performing on stage and the crowd bursting into spontaneous shouts of exaltation.  If you are in the mood for some feel good Americana roots music with a hint of tropical isles, add Dangermuffin to your music library.  Better yet, get out and support live music and catch them at a city near you.
