The Se’Von “Can’t Live My Life” Single Release Party was held at the iLounge in The East Atlanta Village. The East Atlanta Village, or EAV, is a quirky, funky, corner of Atlanta that hasn’t succumbed to the pretentious air of many entertainment districts in Atlanta. The EAV has an eclectic mix of bars, shops and restaurants to appeal all your varied tastes. When it comes to music, one can find punk rock, hip-hop, blues, indie rock and more. Some of my favorite stops in the EAV are The Earl, The Graveyard Tavern and The Basement. Tonight I added iLounge to my list of places to hang out in the EAV.
Tonight’s single release party was hosted by entertainment radio and TV show hostess Shar Bates with DJ Johnnie Dynamite providing the music for the night. The hostesses at the iLounge were top notch. From the moment we walked in until we headed out at the end of the night, the ladies were attentive, charming and made sure that we were pleased with our night at the iLounge.
Se’Von is an Atlanta based artist on the Poetik Entertainment label. I was first introduced to Se’Von’s music during his collaboration with Angela Reign and it was Angela that invited the Libro Musica team to tonight’s Single Release Party. What I enjoy best about Se’Von’s music is his delivery of positive and inspirational words within his lyrics. He latest release “Can’t Live My Life” begins with an up lifting keyboard filled chorus intro and the words “I don’t want to live forever but while I’m here…” From here Se’Von drops bars about some of the many struggles, ups and downs of living this life. This includes a riveting verse listing all the advise that people have given him about which genre he should choose, Se’Von’s response… “I’m all of the above, so I guess I’ll do me!”
We got to hear Se’Von perform Can’t Live my Life tonight, you can listen to Can’t Live my Life on Spotify or on iTunes.
Star Dillard of Rising Star Entertainment is who we have to thank for pulling together tonight’s line up of talent. Performing before and after Se’Von were many of Atlanta’s up and coming artists. These included:
- Antonio Joseph
- King Kon
- Tru Dillinger
- American Will
- Jonnie Gyrl
- Pimp Deezy
- Rally Bop
- Mike Man
- Jaimyn Jupiter & The Space Age Rat Pack
With lots of great talent on the stage tonight, the person that brought the most energy to the stage was AshleYYY and her pair of dancers. These ladies took advantage of every inch of floor space to share a tightly choreographed song and dance routine. As I watched AshleYYY perform, I had flashbacks of shows performed by Janet Jackson and Ciera. I’ll be following AshleYYY from this point on to hear and see more! Look for a feature story about AshleYYY soon here on LibroMusica.
